BEA County Personal Income

How much income the people of each Louisiana county receive, and where it comes from, every year since 1969: pay from work, business and farm profits, dividends, interest and rent, and government payments such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and unemployment insurance, with per-person figures and the earnings commuters carry across county lines. Use it to compare counties' prosperity and growth over half a century, to see how much a county depends on retirement and other government payments, or how much of its residents' pay is earned elsewhere.

Personal income consists of the income that persons receive in return for their provision of labor, land, and capital used in current production as well as other income, such as personal current transfer receipts. In the state and local personal income accounts the personal income of an area represents the income received by or on behalf of the persons residing in that area.

Per capita personal income is the personal income of a given area divided by the resident population of the area.

The adjustment for residence is the net inflow of the earnings of interarea commuters.
