TIGER/Line All Lines (EDGES)

Every line on the Census Bureau's map of Massachusetts: each public road from interstates to alleys, railroads, streams and shorelines, and the invisible lines that bound towns and census blocks, cut at every intersection. Each road segment carries its street name, the house-number range and ZIP code on each side, its road class, and whether it is a bridge, a tunnel, a ford, pedestrian-only or closed to the public. Use it to find streets by name or address range, to map rail and water lines, and to look up the source of any segment of the drivable road network.

From the publisher

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) System (MTS). The MTS represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation.

Edges refer to the linear topological primitives that make up the MTS. The All Lines shapefile contains linear features such as roads, railroads, and hydrography. The All Lines shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of each topological primitive edge. Each edge has a unique TIGER/Line identifier (TLID) value.
