Points of Interest (Overture Maps)
Shops, restaurants, offices, services, clinics, pharmacies, schools, places of worship, parks and other destinations in New Jersey, each as a point with its name, category, brand and street address, compiled by the Overture Maps Foundation from Meta, Microsoft, Foursquare, business registries and other providers. Good for finding where trips go: access to groceries, health care and jobs, destinations along a corridor or around a station, and comparing what different areas offer. It is a broad directory rather than an official list, so counts of one kind of place are approximate.

The Overture places theme contains tens of millions of point representations of real-world entities: schools, businesses, hospitals, religious organizations, landmarks, mountain peaks, and much more. The theme is published under the CDLA Permissive 2.0 and Apache 2.0 licenses. It contains no OpenStreetMap data and carries none of the share-alike obligations of the Open Database License (ODbL).
The places theme includes an existence confidence score for each feature, a value between 0 and 1 representing the likelihood that the place exists. Confidence measures existence only, whether the record describes a real place rather than junk, and is independent of other attributes such as operating_status.
Places is known to contain duplicates, a high junk rate, and low property completeness. The confidence score is the primary tool for filtering potential junk data; it does not address duplicates or property completeness.

How this table is made
Read from Overture's monthly release, keeping the places whose point lies inside New Jersey's counties. Permanently closed places are left out. Phone numbers, email addresses, websites and social media links are never read. Each row is one Overture place, identified by its Overture ID, which stays the same from one release to the next.
