NLCD Land Cover Classes
The names and definitions of the 16 kinds of land cover the U.S. Geological Survey maps across the country, from open water and four intensities of developed land to forest, farmland and wetland. Use it to read and explain the land cover figures, and to group the classes the way a question needs, such as all developed land or all agriculture.
