State Planner

LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES)

Where Ohio's workers live and where they go to work: job counts for every pair of home and workplace neighborhood (a census block group of roughly 1,100 people), from the Census Bureau's LEHD program. This is the data behind commute-shed questions — which communities feed a job center, how far people travel to a corridor, how those patterns have shifted. Covers workplaces in Ohio for 2002, 2007, 2010, 2014, 2019, 2021 and 2023.
