QCEW Annual Employment and Wages

How many people worked in each Ohio county and industry, how many workplaces employed them and what they were paid, as averages for every year since 1990, from the near-complete count of jobs that employers report for unemployment insurance. Use it to compare counties and industries year by year, to follow an industry's jobs and average pay over three decades, and to see how much of a county's payroll one industry such as manufacturing or health care carries, down to individual industries.

From the publisher

The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program publishes a quarterly count of employment and wages reported by employers covering more than 95 percent of U.S. jobs, available at the county, MSA, state and national levels by industry.

QCEW monthly employment data represent the number of covered workers who worked during, or received pay for, the pay period that included the 12th day of the month.

BLS withholds the publication of UI-covered employment and wage data for any industry level when necessary to protect the identity of employers. Totals at the industry level for the states and the nation include the undisclosed data suppressed within the detailed tables without revealing those data.
